What's been goin' on...

It's food. I'm keeping up with Miss Yaki here as best I can.
She eats, as she should.
I support her, as I should.
In the meantime, I think I might be getting about ready to give birth to something myself. Not sure what it'll be, but suspect it'll be angry.

Seriously though, we've been eating great. Just a quick rundown to make others living in Japan or other sketchy climes envious.
Here we go:
Arugula Pesto on Spelt Penne w/Roasted Vegetables.
Falafels w/Tahini sauce on Whole Wheat Flatbread.
Roasted Sweet Potato Quesadillas w/Smoky Chipotle Sauce Garnished with Toasted Pepitas.
Vegetarian Lasagna w/Tofu Spinach Filling
HomeMade Chocolate Chip Cookies
Tofu Mattar Paneer on Brown Basmati served w/Cucumber Mint Raita
Killer Banana Bread
Honey Lemon Ginger Spinach Salad
Greasy Pork Sammys served on a Dirty Ash Tray...

Sounds great eh?
I could be eating this...

...if I was deeply disturbed.
Seriously though, a friend at work was equally put off by the lower picture. He looked at it incredulously and told me that it is in fact a sweet sammy...a sweet pork something wrapped in sweet dough. He looked near as disgusted as me.

I'm counting the days...

Blog's B-day!

Here we are.
It's not only my first official post of '07, but yesterday marked this blog's first birthday. Seems like only yesterday I was posting it's first pictures and wondering if it would talk.
It's still here anyway.

A very quick catch up:
We celebrated the New Year in Kyoto with Miss Yaki's family and had a great time. The following pictures document the general flavour of their trip:

Since bidding farewell to the Simpson/Abbot caravan we've been rather quiet. My ridiculous book reading is only distracted by the occasional trip out to eat, go bowling (once), or more frequently ripping around on my bike. Oh, and can't forget scrabble, cards, and hospital visits with my sweetheart of course.
